While I don't think new rules should be added now that the first CotL is underway, I think it would be a good idea to start a thread to propose a few for the next one.
1. Each blogger can only submit ONE of their own posts.
2. CotL should be limited to 10 links. There is a lot more great material out there, but I like the idea of a best-of-the-best. (It also gives focus)
3. The host may not post h/er own material for that cyle of CotL.
Any other ideas?

Wonderful information that you have shared. We would get advantage from this great info. We always like cheap offers whether they are for study, E20-361 registration and other matters. 1Y0-A03 is a great source of earning. I have much earn from it and spend it on my HP0-J25 certification. But i am sure these certification would give me return.

Well, I didn't mean that flexible. I was thinking +/- 2. Excessive linkage was a problem I had with the most recent Carnival of the Godless. I participated in that Carnival and thought it really diluted attention. I think I counted 35 links before I gave up. I have no problem with the hard 10 limit maybe adding the "hosts choice" thing I mentioned in e-mail.

I like the idea of a hard roof, it helps focus the project. It also doesn't overwhelm people who visit the carnival. Who wants to visit 50 links.
Another benefit is that it is easier for hosts to say no to friends who want to pimp their sites.
Since the host of the carnival changes hands each time, it would be difficult to enforce a "no paranoid conspiracy" rule. While I agree 100% with such a rule, until this site becomes moe sophisticated, there is no way to moderate such entries.
One mans conspiracy is another man legitiamate story.
I do beleive that the Isreali/Palestinian issue should be off-limits. It's too easy for CotL at this stage to be lableed as either anti-semitic or anti-arab.

With you all the way on 1) and 3). 2) is already in the hosting guidelines though worded a bit more loosely.
I agree on the best of the best nature of the CotL. That's exactly what I wanted. Hpwever, I am somewhat leary about making 10 a hard number. There is an upper limit though. While I would occasionally accept up to 12, any higher than that and I think it'd be clear that the host was simply pimping their friend's sites. Do you think we need to make 10 an upper hard limit?
greyl at DU suggested we put something in the submission guidelines to specifically exclude paranoid conspiracy theories and blogs based off David Icke or other questionable material. Normally I'd say that just having good hosts would be the way to counter this. There's nothing to say that we have to accept every volunteer to host a CotL. Just thought I'd throw it out though and see what you think.
